Skid Steers
The skid steer is a wonderfully versatile machine. It was in 1957 that Minnesota had the fortune of seeing the vehicle created by Cyril and Louis Keller. This new machine while a little different then the skid steer we know today was the beginning. This vehicle had a front axle but only one caster wheel in the back that allowed the machine to turn around in the same distance as it's length.
In 1958 another set of brothers bought the rights to the Keller loader as it was called. The Melroe brothers after buying the rights to the new machine hired it's inventors the Keller brothers to further develop the machine. After a few changes where made and by 1960 they had added a full rear axle and introduced what would fast become known as the Melroe Bobcat. Today the word "Bobcat" is often used as a generic word for these vehicles but it really is a brand name.
There are so many attachments that these unique construction vehicles can do a tremendous amount of work. There are almost like a Swiss Army knife they have so many options.
Today companies such as Case, JCB, Bobcat, New Holland, JLG, John Deere, Volvo, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hyundai and others produce these fine machines. Below you can find the skid steer you need.
